Well its happened, 6 weeks of holidays, is over and school is back in. I’m certainly in need of the return to routine, but secretly, I could keep them home for a little longer. As a photographer I have a confession to make, I have never taken a really good shot of my 3 on the first day of school, shhhh, don’t tell the world. That first day is always crazy, we somehow manage to be late every year however I’m strangely quite organised this year so I’ve decided I’m going to try this year, will see how tomorrow goes.
We had a great holiday, time spent with family, and time spent here, one of my favourite spots in the world. Home! I grew up here, never saw it like this, but I get so emotional about home when I return. This photo was taken from Flying Fish Point looking back towards the Coconuts where my childhood family home is. Most Brissy people get a laugh out of the names, but for me it was always just home. It is my zen place, so for now, when tomorrow morning and every other morning gets crazy and the school routine has me on that treadmill, I’ll just walk past this picture on the wall and smile, and think of home.
