What has been happening at Lynda Coulson Photography? Well lots of family portraits in and around Brisbane, but behind the scenes a lot more than that these past few months.
I have had 2 experiences over the past 3 months which have significantly changed me, my photography, and my business. The Baby Summit is a conference I have had the pleasure of being behind the scenes at for the past 2 years. When one of your closest friends come to you and says, “hey I’m going to create my own conference about baby photography” you tend to jump all in and throw all hands on deck. Then when she tells you “hey, we are taking this thing to the US”, again, you tend to jump all in and throw all hands on deck. So in August we had The Baby Summit Australia, in beautiful Tweed Heads, over 300 people took over Twin Towns on the Tweed Coast for 3 days, listening to amazing speakers, watching demonstrations from some of the worlds best baby photographers, photographic specialists and inspiring artists. And then of course, we decended on Atlanta, Georgia, in US of A, for more of the same. Southern Charm at its best – I met beautiful people from all around the world. I worked alongside gorgeous friends from all areas of the globe – it was incredible.
I am a big believer in you get out of something what you put into it – for The Baby Summit, this has been the case, X10.
I also had a significant birthday last month – 40 is here and I’m loving it. So as a result I was lucky enough to celebrate with a few days in NYC with 3 of the best girls I know, as a little side trip to my time in Atlanta. Life changing, life affirming and incredibly exhilarating. You don’t do something so amazing, without feeling like life has just changed for you – I have no words.
When life throws you an opportunity, you grab it with both hands and hold of for the ride. That is how I have felt over the past few months, and it has been incredible.
Of course, amongst all that fun I have also been keeping up with photographing my families and making some incredible plans for business in 2017 and beyond. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.
Bring it I say – the 40s are going to be fabulous.
