As a mother of 3, special time with one child is a rarity. And when I say, special time, I don’t mean the 5 minutes on the way home from school in the car where he tells me about his latest attempt on goal in the playground. I mean special, one on one time where you walk away with your heart in your mouth. I had this with my eldest boy today. He is that child that will bring your blood pressure to boiling point one moment and then melt your heart with his thoughtful ways and creative storytelling the next.
He makes my heart skip a beat.
I enjoyed this morning so much and came home to the rest of the family with such an energy it was amazing. I’ll forever keep this image special in my heart to remind me of those couple of hours spent with my boy and how precious they are.
We all need to have that time with our kids, one on one. I hear you say (and I have said, and I will say it again) who has the time. Well we don’t. But, it won’t wait for us, they will grow and that time will be gone. So make it happen. Feed the family cheese on toast one night and close the laptop to make it happen – the gourmet meal and the work emails will all be there waiting for us tomorrow.
Make the time to make it happen.
Beautiful picture – he is such a handsome little guy!
This is so true! I used to do one-on-one time each weekend with my boys and I started getting so busy I had to stop. They still ask me about it a couple years later it meant that much to them. I am going to start it back up again, even if I can’t do it every weekend. This image is perfection!
So True Lynda! This is a beautiful image.
This image is just beautiful. But how much more empowering is this image knowing the story behind it!
You are so right. I only have 2 kids, but still find the one on one time hard to fit in. But it is so important and I am going to work harder at it. Love this picture.
What a gorgeous boy you have, and such a beautiful capture.
This is a gorgeous image of what sounds like a very special young man. Wonderful words that ring true for so many of us.
so so true! I love this image!
Great shot, and he sounds like a wonderful kid. 🙂
